Ernst Grünfeld introduced this defense in 1922, where in hid first game he defeated future world champion Alexander Alekhine. The opening is still in active use as Anand used it twice in the World Chess Championship 2010. I was introduced to it by a by GM Melikset Khachiyan and I've been using it ever since. (I know that I copied your idea, but it's so good!)
